Ema

An Ema is a wooden plaque on which visitors write theirwishes,
prayers or gratitude to prayyers answered.
The plaques are usually seen hung on designated racks as offerings to the deity of the shirine.

How to write an Ema

1. Write your wish on the backsaide of the picture
※Best to limit to one wish

2. Write down your place of residence and name
(or initial)

Not only do Omikujis look into each person's fortune,
but the readings go beyond just the goods and bads, extending to various aspects of daily life.
Many follow the custom of tying the Omikuji to designated racks,although they can also be taken home.
